雌激素对大鼠脑重量的影响

Effects of Estrogen on the Weight of Rat Brain

摘要: 为了研究雌激素对脑重量的影响,对雌激素下降或去除的老年和去卵巢大鼠补充17β-雌二醇,结果发现,老年和去除卵巢大鼠的平均脑重较之青年大鼠和假手术大鼠显著降低(P<0.05或P<0.01)。而补充外源性17β-雌二醇后,脑的重量有显著增加,基本恢复其正常状态。这些结果表明雌激素对神经元结构和功能的维持是必须的,且对神经元具有营养和保护作用,能够维持其脑的重量,延缓或阻止其重量的降低。

Abstract: To study the effects of estrogen on the weight of brain, the weight of brains of aging and ovariectomized female rat were studied after 17β-estradiol treatment. The main results are as follows:The weight of the aging and ovariectomized rat significantly decreases compared with young and sham group rat (P<0.05 or P<0.01), while the weight ascended predominantly after 17β-estradiol treatment, even back to the normal level. The results suggeste that estrogen is essential in sustaining the structure and function of neurons. Estrogen has ability in sustaining the weight of brain.
