Abstract: To build the tourist highway promotes development of tourism greatly. Form the point of ecology, study on the tourist highway is so important. This paper analyze several crucial matters about the tourist highway construction-weak ecological environment, irreversible landscape change, the effect of the tourist highway on environmental sensitizing range and presents the planning and design principles. Finally, the paper inquires into methods of landscape planning and design for the tourist highway to choose rational ways, landscape design of lines, the use of "shape" and "tendency" in places and lines, the use of landscape around the way and to landscape the installation of highway, to array the landscape of ecological restoration in western Sichuan based on Chuanzhusi to Jiuzhaigou tourist highway project.
