Abstract: Serum protein of 51 crossbreed pigs from 5 Landrace boars and 15 Yanan sows were tested. The penotypic and genetic correlation between the percentage content of serum protein and economic traits as well as heritabilities of serum protein were estimated. The results showed that the percentage contents of serum albumin, α-, β- and γ-globin were 51.92±5.44, 21.48±4.2, 12.09±2.11 and 14.86±2.31 resp. The penotypic correlations of percentage content of serum albumin with the econmic traits except dressing percentage were all significant (p<0.05 or p<0.01). The heritabilities both of percentage content of serum γ-globin and food utilization efficiency and their genetic correlation were 0.767±0.353 (p<0.05), 0.499±0.339 and 0.76±0.365 (p<0.05) respectively. It was found that the gen etic correlations of serum γ-globin with other economic traits were also high and the standard error of the genetic correlations were lower. Hence, the percentage content of γ-globin can be regarded as one of genetic markers for swine breeding.
