Abstract: The grassland is directly used by herdsmen, whose behaviors and attitudes are the micro-foundation in grassland sustainable use. Based on the interview of government and the investigation of herdsmen in Hongyuan county and Ruoergai county of northwestern Sichuan province, through analysis of investigation data, the main factors causing grassland degradation include pursuing the animal amount, demancling energy excessively from the lawn without inputting etc. And this paper draws a conclusion that the main reasons for the effects of Herdsmen behaviors are the basic need for survival, the increase of expenditure and its structure changes, lack of income sources and the poor technological and cultural qualities of herdsmen.
