卫星搭载获得玉米基因雄性不育的初步鉴定

Identification on Maize Male Sterile Mutant Obtained by Space Flight

摘要: 1996年利用返回式实验卫星搭载玉米种子,从中选育出一份雄性不育突变体,对该不育材料通过多年、多代、多点的种植并结合与对照的同步观察、广泛测交鉴定,研究结果表明,不育材料花粉败育彻底,为无花粉型雄性不育,不育性状表现稳定,呈现出由隐性单基因控制的核不育的遗传特点,该不育材料对株高有一定的矮化作用,雄性不育突变体的出现与卫星搭载有关,为基因突变的结果。

Abstract: Six kinds of maize seeds were carried into space in 1996 by satellite. After being returned, the seeds were planted in field in comparison with the same ear seeds that did not be carried into space. The sterile stability was observed in 2 locations, for 2 years and 5 generations. In order to analyse the kind of male sterile, the gene numbers that control this trait,and the dominant mutant or recessive mutant, many normal inbred lines or fertility materials were used to cross with this mutant. At the same time, sister cross was also conducted with this mutant. The main results are as the follow:The male sterile mutant is stable, inheritable in different years and different locations. It is controlled by a single recessive gene in Chromosome. This male sterile material always accompanies with low plant height. The appearance of male sterile mutant is the conclusion of gene mutation by space flight.
