USE OF A SENSITIVE ELISA FOR MEASUREMENT OF HAIR PROGESTERONE CONTENTS IN GIANT PANDAS

摘要: 应用建立的酶免疫分析法检测了4头雌大熊猫在1995年1月至6月期间被毛中孕酮含量的变化。研究表明从每份采得的被毛样品中皆可测出孕酮的存在;在雌大熊猫有发情表现期间,其被毛孕酮含量出现升高。4头中有3头皆产一仔。

Abstract: Hair progesterone Contents in four female giant panda during January to June 1995 were measured using a sensitive ELISA established by the staff of Isotope Research Laboratory. The results showed that progesterone can be detected in all the hair samples collected from the giant pandas. Transient increase in hair progesterone content was recorded during the behavioral oestrus of the four giant pandas. Three of the animals tested gave birth to lovely pandas.
